King's Crown

King’s Crown

Copyright Heleen van den Hombergh

Show them you are made of hardwood

Rare species that you are

And when you fall, you fall with grace

Ruining the whole damn place

When your crown comes down

When your crown comes down with thunder

Tell them of your noble lineage

Tough species that you are

The traitors push you off your throne

But when you fall, you’re not alone

You will tear them down

When your crown falls down they’re under

You fall, you fall, you fall

But your tale will be told somewhere

You fall, you fall you fall

But your voice will be heard

Far beyond the woods

(tree falling)

Next morning when the sun comes up

You’ll see descendants waiting

Tender as they are

One of them will stay

He’ll find his way

Lay down, your roots are there

Food to your heirs

Food to the crowds

Food to the wild!

(wild evolving)

So, give it one more look, your palace

The great green hall below

Your solitary youth you fought

your battle to the top

You thought

You out shadowed all

But your rival’s fall

Is revenged now
