Heleen van den Hombergh Quartet
Heleen recorded two CDs and a DVD with her Quartet featuring piano Boy Edgar price winning bass player Tony Overwater and piano virtuoso Bert van den Brink, and the colorful percussionist Joshua Samson. With this group she obtained standing ovations at the North Sea Jazz Festival in (2002, 2005) as well as in Concertgebouw, Bimhuis and many other stages.
Heleen's debut album with these musicians was called " Heard in the Scene " featuring jazz & soulclassics as well as originals. The second album with her Quartet, “ Rush in the Woods ” consists of Heleen’s originals only, inspired by her travels through the tropical rainforests. It received excellent reviews in the Netherlands, the UK and Germany. The public's enthusiasm to the performances led to a live DVD recording in the Bimhuis (Live in Amsterdam, 2005), which was broadcasted several times on national television. Live radio recordings were broadcasted around the world.
